Seeing the Milky Way was DEFINITELY worth the headache of the storm. And once the water receded, everything was covered in slimy silt, and the stench of mold, sewage, and damp permeates pretty much everything the flood waters touched. The smell has gone down significantly today, but that's because it's been raining since Saturday night so the river is back to day-of-Irene levels. Nothing catastrophic yet (and nothing near as bad as 2 days after Irene), but SO MUCH WATER.
