Only four episodes tonight, since two of them resulted in a fair bit of flailing.

2x12 "Insurgence" Moar Canadian Actor Bingo to play! I reeeeeally need to make that scorecard.
BECKETT!!
(Ok, Paul McGillion.)
And Colin Cunningham?
I love it!

WOW. Mrs. Small. I'm not sure if this is a play to keep Lana out of your life or an honest attempt to protect Lana but shit, yo. That's cold.

Well done, Lex. Make Daddy Kent struggle, then pointedly don't make him actually ask.

Jeeeeez. And Jill Teed (Ok, I had to IMDB her, but she looked really familiar)? EVERYONE EVER is in this show!

Daddy Luthor's little smile when Martha admitted that she'd left the house on bad terms with Daddy Kent has earned him EVEN MORE OF MY WRATH (in a good, please continue to be evil kind of way).

OOOOOOH SHIT KRYPTONITE!!!!

Martha's gonna see something in those papers, isn't she?
There we are.
AH HAH! THAT'S where the octagon of Doom has been! I'd been trying to remember.
Aaaand gone now!

Well done, costumers, for putting Clark in clearly defined red and blue for his first meditated superhero action in Metropolis.

That watch is going to come back to haunt us, isn't it? It's clearly more than a gift from employer to employee, whether Martha accepts it or not.

Lex can really NEVER catch a break, can he? He's like a walking Murphy's Law of Industry. And familial relationships. And everything, really.

AWWWWWWWWW, THIS FINAL SCENE in Metropolis! I shouldn't laugh, because Lex is ANGSTING. To slow motion fades and angry rock music. Teeheehee.

That's right, Martha. Your husband thinking deviously is HOT. Don't deny.

OH LEX AND YOUR DADDY ISSUES. It occurs to me that we've essentially seen this set up (gunman, hostages) but with Luthor roles reversed in that ep about Level 3. Interestingly, Daddy Luthor is OK to risk Lex's life while Lex does everything he knows how to do to make sure both Martha and Daddy Luthor are OK. Admittedly, his methods don't succeed, but he does try.

2x13 "Suspect" So glad we've moved on to more than just FotW plots!
WHOA WHOA WHOA WTF?! Daddy Luthor! I don't love you, but I don't want you to DIE!

WAIT. WHAT?! Daddy Kent?!

Ok, are we going to rewind and get background? GAAAA!!!
Or not. Fill in the blanks!
OBVIOUSLY Daddy Kent is being framed.

Wait, what happened yesterday that would upset Lex?

Ooooh man. Maybe he really did do it? Definitely not of his own volition, but maybe he did it?

Have we covered whether or not the gun is actually Johnathan's? It doesn't seem like the kind of gun he'd own.
Also, it seems like there's a little too much evidence, narratively, for him to actually have done it.

Props to Sheriff Ethan for not being an ass to Clark, while also not bending over for him. Well done, writers!

BWAHAHAHAH! I love Dominick's version of reality. Lex and Daddy Luthor saying things that they usually leave unsaid. And the bit about "our own private soap opera"? HAH!
I like Dominick for introducing question into Daddy Kent's guilt, but mostly I want to punch him in the nose.

Careful, Clark. You're going to screw up a lovely friendship.
Yeah. Like that. Well done.

Apparently, the Kent temper is... well, not genetic. Learned behavior?
Though a bit of acting on the part of Mr. Welling wouldn't have gone amiss. Facial expressions. Use them. Stony faced and expressionless IS actually an expression.

WHOA HOLY SHIT TRUCK!
Having brief Supernatural flashbacks!

This show has a thing for car crashes and burned out cars.

Clark, Lex is trying to do the same thing that you are, doof!
Yes, Lex. Your background machinations DID, in fact, put one of your closest friends at risk.
OH BOYS.

Dead body in the freezer. Calling it.
I win. Chekhov's gun!

So was it Dominick? Or yet another face?

WHOAH!!! TOTES didn't expect that!
And after I complimented Sheriff Ethan. Well played, show.

No, Clark. "Darkness like that" comes out of having a having Lionel Luthor for a father.
Thank you Lex, for saying exactly that!

Wooooow. Daddy Luthor is a scary, scary man. Shit.

2x14 "Rush"
I know it's skeezy 'cause she's not acting of her own will, but Chloe with that lollipop was ABSURDLY HOT. *fans self*

That--and AUGH EMBARRASSING IT MAKES MY INSIDES SQUIDGY--is all I have to say about this ep.

2x15 "Prodigal"NO WORDS. ONLY FLAILING!
Before the ep starts: this'll be more about Lex and Daddy Luthor, yeah? The ep title so leads me to believe....

"I see you" in poker becomes considerably more amusing when there's a camera involved.

White Collar, YOU TOTALLY STOLE THE ENTIRE EP! Ok, maybe just a bit. Still.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!! LUCAS!!!

Lex: Unimpressed with Daddy's acting.
Lucas: Already picking up on the less than pretty relationship he just walked into.

AHAHAHAH PETE. "Hey Lucas, you want to shoot some hoops?" That was either a lovely display of tact or the writers deciding they want Pete to be a TOTAL DOOF.

Lucas says: You and Lex seem close.
Lucas means: You and Lex seem to be screwing.

This show is fond of basketball montages, yeah?

Also, I don't love Lucas. I mean, I think narrative-wise he's an interesting character, but I kinda want to shake him for messing with Clark, Lex, and Pete.

Oh god Lex just wants a brother who loves him and who he can love in return! D'aaaawww.
AHAHA NOW YOU HAVE TO MOVE IN WITH CLARK.

Oh dear lord, I was right. BWAHAHAHAHA!

Michael Rosenbaum, that series of facial expressions when asking the Kents if you could stay was FANTASTIC.

Lucas, you're an ass, but that was quite crafty. I do have to approve.

HOLY SHIT. HOLY SHIT. HOLY SHIT.
Daddy Luthor isn't blind!!! AHHHHHHHH!

But Lex tweaked the business arrangement so that he's a silent partner, right? After that one ep where he tried to shut down the Talon?

Lex: While I've been playing checkers, my father's been playing chess.

I love the physical contrast between Lex and Lucas. (Not just because Lucas is shirtless and Lex is in a delightful maroon.) Square face with dark hair to Oval face with no hair,

Ah good. Partnership agreement addressed! Thanks, Lana.

Yeeeah, this Talon job for Clark isn't gonna last long, is it? And Lana'd be right to fire him. He's a terrible employee!

I love that NOTHING Daddy Luthor says is genuine. That's part of what makes him such a great bad guy!

AWWW LEX! Tied to a chair and being held at gunpoint by his brother, and he finds out that his father has been (yet again) lying to him ALL ALONG.
Can't catch a break! Poor love.

WHOA. Can't say I expected that shot from --
AHHHHHHHH LEX WAS IN ON IT OH MY GOD MADE OF WIN AHAHAHAHAH I LOVE IT SO!!!!!
AHHH! MY FLAILY HANDS, LET ME SHOW YOU THEM.

K, I've had a deep breath.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! SO AWESOME!
Lex's genuine shock when Daddy Luthor shot Lucas was awesome, as was the way the scene wrapped. They'd made their point. No need to stick around and chat. LOVE IT!
Though.... a( We got a visual of Lex's taped/tied legs, but Lucas only untaped his arms, after which he walked away and b) in the magazine, blanks are generally pretty much indistinguishable from live rounds, especially in low light. SO Lucas popping the magazine to "show" Daddy Luthor that both guns had blanks was kinda silly.
But other than that. FLAILZ.

Daddy Luthor: It's amazing what people try to get away with right in front of your eyes when they think you can't see.
Lex: [Is unamused by his father's double talk, YET AGAIN.]

I'm very glad Clark's Talon job is over. I don't think I could handle the constant embarrassment of him failing as an employee.

OH MY GOD THIS EP. GAAAA!!! I'm still all flaily!
